4×4 Magazine is a student-run literary magazine at Columbia University in the City of New York. We came together in 2013 as an alternative to Quarto, the official magazine of Columbia University’s Creative Writing Department. Since then, we have published an issue every year, with a deep investment in literary community and an orientation towards fresh, exciting, and unexpected voices. Our magazine may be small, sleek, and square, but our spirit is stranger and more boundless.

Our arms are open to all, our submissions only to Columbia and Barnard undergraduate writers.
